The host families are already known before the beginning of the IFYE-exchange. Host family changes are well organized.

Helping out around the house and the farm.
Excursions
day trips in the local area with the host family or alone
Young Farmers/Rural Youth:
many 4H-events, meetings, agricultural and animal shows
Food
potatoes, hamburgers, meat, liver pastries, sausages, cheese, vegetables, salad without sauce
Communication
English, German, Danish - you can make out a lot of Danish from knowing English and German
Other
very simple, uncomplicated, sometimes chaotic
